Fostering global innovation leaders.

Three Pillars

Science, technology, and culture in one system.

The programme is structured around three interconnected learning pillars — each designed to ladder directly into Gelephu Mindfulness City's long-term human capital strategy.

01. Systems Thinking

Smart-city simulations connect energy, water, biodiversity, mobility, and wellbeing into a single civic learning model rooted in Bhutan's GNH philosophy.

02. Creative Intelligence

Digital storytelling turns culture, narrative design, and interactive worlds into tools for expression, communication, and shared Bhutanese identity.

03. Applied Technology

AI, sensors, 3D printing, coding platforms, and data analysis transform abstract concepts into hands-on real-world experimentation.

Programme Structure

First Pilot Run: Four Schools, Two Days per School.

From introduction to independent execution.

Programme structure: Day 1 and Day 2 overview
Day One

School Introduction & Teacher Training

Understanding school context, student level, and local needs. Teachers receive an intro to Micro:bit and lesson plans — gaining confidence to run additional workshops independently.

Context Assessment Teacher Training Lesson Planning
Day Two

Student Workshops & Live Coding

Hands-on introduction to Micro:bit. Students achieve their first coding success within 5 minutes. Environmental coding connects STEM directly to sustainability — grounding the science in Bhutan's reality.

Needs
  • Devices with internet access — phones, laptops, or tablets
  • Stable internet connection
  • Translator support if required
Outcomes
  • Students code successfully within 5 minutes on Day 2
  • Teachers confident to run independent workshops
  • STEM skills connected directly to sustainability themes
Programme Modules

Four tracks. One connected system.

Each module addresses a distinct domain of 21st century readiness — from storytelling and simulation to AI ethics and hands-on prototyping.

Digital Storytelling module
Game-Based Cultural Interactive

01. Digital Storytelling

Students co-create stories rooted in Bhutanese wisdom — moving through GNH pillars, narrative design, and interactive worlds they build and share.

Smart City Simulations module
Gelephu Mindful City Digital Model

02. Smart-City Simulations

A digital model of Gelephu Mindful City becomes the classroom — exploring Energy, Water, Biodiversity, Mobility, and Wellbeing as one connected system.

Technology Innovation module
Hands-On Prototype Invent

03. Technology Innovation

Sensors capture climate and mobility data. 3D printing turns ideas into prototypes. Platforms let students code, simulate, and design smart solutions.

AI and 21st Century Skills module
Mindful Ethical Human-Centered

04. AI & 21st Century Skills

GNH-guided AI literacy covering design and data analysis, storytelling, simulations, mindful technology use, and ethical AI citizenship.
